Sarah Coventry Evening Comet Brooch 1966

A very seldom seen piece from the sixties! I've had a lot of Sarah Coventry through my hands and this is a piece I've had only once before! Bright textured light goldentone finish double-pinwheel design with a clear bright rhinestones. Swirling arms give an incredible sensation of energy and movement. Measures approx. 2.5" in diameter. Condition is very good, which is nothing short of miraculous considering the age of this item. Only evidence of wear that I see is some bits of plating loss on the very tips of the longer arms. Description in 1966 catalog reads as follows: "Take the beauty of a star and combine it with all the animation and fire of a comet and you have a design of breathtaking beauty." Described as an "after five" set but it looks fabulous on a denim jacket! Listed as SarahSheen silvertone and SarahSheen goldentone. There were earrings made to go with this brooch, but we do not have these at the present time.
