Rare EARLY Booths Teapot w/ Green Dragon

Maker:

Stock Number: 5392

Price: $125

This is NOT the Booth's dragon pattern that you're used to seeing! We're not absolutely certain of the date, but believe that it was probably made between the wars. It's possible that the items from this series that we are currently selling may have originally been part of a breakfast set. This small teapot probably held two cups of tea. It is encircled by green dragons on a cream band trimmed with gold gilt. Lid is crowned with a flower bud finial and leaves trailing down over the lid. Lid has considerable crazing, probably due to heat, and two small fleabites on the bottom edge, but pot itself shows no spout chipping or other damage and almost no wear, even to the gilt on the handle! Single mark on the bottom reads Booths Silicon China, Made in Great Britain. There is also what may be a decorator's mark that looks like a small % sign and a pattern number that appears to be 4475 I. Another piece we had, which we believe to have been part of the same set, bore the registration number 728790 as well as what we believe to be a retailer's mark reading T. Goode & Co. Ltd., London, Made in England. Measures approx. 5 1/2" tall to the top of the finial.
