Lovely old pitcher or milk jug stands approx. 6 inches high and measures approx. 3 1/2 by 2 in diameter. Decorated with a floral motif surrounded by black lattice or lace. Appears to be hand painted over transfer. Our research has lead us to believe this particular mark is attributed to Porzellanfabrik Schonwald, Arzberg, Bavaria (primarily per Directory of European Porcelain by Danckert). Probably early 20th century, as mark seems to have been used only for a few years starting in 1920. Only decorated on one side - back of the jug is plain. There is some wear to the gilt on the rim, as well as a 1/4 x 1/2 conchoidal chip on the inside of the front rim (not visible when the piece is on display) and a few fleabites around the bottom edge, but there are no other chips, cracks, damage or restoration that we could find.
